This week we focused on Halloween characters, such as friendly cats, witches, ghost and goblins, spiders, bats and Haunted House.
For fine motor skills we practiced prince grasp using different instruments. We cut straight lines on paper and foamy and used various materials with the hole puncher. In math we have been classifying objects by colors, sorting them by shapes and matching by size. We also role-counted using manipulatives.
Also, Big Bears are practicing a witch poem:
“If I were a witch
I´d ride on my broom
And scatter the ghosts with a zoom, zoom, zoom!
Each one took a turn to role play as a witch using a black broom.
Big Bears had fun making a spider cookie! As soon as they saw the oreo cookie, pretzel sticks, m&m´s and Nutella their eyes became wide open and said “may we eat it?”.
Wow they enjoyed making the spider on its web crawling over it. They also had fun painting and sprinkling glitter all over the pumpkin, and making a witch hat using an icecream cone and chocolate frosting.
Big Bears are excited about the “Haunted Wonderland Parade”
Have a great weekend!
