October Week 1

This week we had the opportunity to learn about shapes and using different materials. The Big Bears learned that a circle is round and it has no corners. A triangle has three sides and a square has four sides and corners. They realized that any of these shapes can be found around us such as a circle (clock), triangle (pizzas) and squares on a picture frame.

Last week we also practiced our new rhyme:

The Tree

Tree trunk at the bottom

Leaves at the top

Apples falling off the tree

Plop, plop, plop

Next week we will introduce our new song:”Columbus, Columbus”, each one will take turns and in front of their friends repeat it. We love observing how each day they learn new things. Let them sing to you !

During the following week Big Bears will do rectangle tables / mirror and an oval as the carpet or eggs.

We will discover different types of lines (straight, curved, zigzag, slant) and textures.

On Thursday October 30, we will celebrate Halloween. Start looking for costumes so your child can participate in our catwalk. Try to find simple costumes for their own comfort. We also suggest it should allow your child to move freely. If it is possible use make-up instead of mask so it won´t obstruct their sight.

“Columbus, Columbus”

Columbus, Columbus

He sailed across the sea

And found a land

For you and me!

Columbus, Columbus

We celebrate the day

You landed in America

In 1492

La Niña, La Pinta y La Santa María

 Have a great weekend!
