This week our main topic was “Me and My Family”, learning about mom, dad, sister, brother, baby, grandma and grandpa. Here are some fun activities we did during the week: Children had fun watching “The finger family song” video; trying to identify the different members of a family. Kids loved playing with toys and dolls. Also for exploration time tiny turtles enjoyed playing with chips and bottles with the purpose of stimulating and developing their fine motor skills. Finally using different type of balls for their sensory skills.
In creativity class we made our “family” project, using sponges with different shapes: dad as a rectangle, mom as a oval, brother as a square, sister as a triangle and baby as a circle. Turtles had a blast working with paint and sponges, they keep getting better and better every day. Also, we worked with some colored ice cubes painting on craft paper. They love to explore different materials! Finally, we used some shaving cream on the tables and allowed the kids to play and explore with the foam.
Physical development is the time of the day to practice our gross motor skills. We practiced marching and throwing a ball, sitting down in a circle and passing the ball, jumping and rolling.
Have a great weekend!
