In the Jungle

It is such a pleasure to see everyone participate and want to take action in our class!

This week we started talking about jungle animals and we explained how they live in the jungle or in the zoo. Vocabulary words included: monkey, elephant, zebra, crocodile, lion, tiger and giraffe.

For exploration, we have been working with plush animals, plastic animals, and sensory box full of jungle plastic animals, grass and leaves. Students are now able to identify and talk a little more about each one of these animals.

During this week in Art class, Bees have been making crafts that will be finishing next week in order to create a bag full of puppets of different jungle animals, so they can play at home and review animals of the zoo. They are working with paint, using their fingerprints, glue, crayons, and markers.

During recess everyone played and worked at the same time, on their motor gross skills as well as their balance, their creativity and social skills.

Story Time has been related to this theme as well. Stories read to them are One Yellow Lion, The Jungle Book. In the Jungle, Put Me In The Zoo, Curious George At The Zoo, I am a Wild Animal, The Little Elephant.

Next week we will continue to talk about this topic and review more animals!

Have a great weekend!
