If You’re Happy and You Know It, Clap Your Hands!!

During the week we experienced lots of emotions, starting with happy, sad, angry, sleepy and finally laughing.

We implemented different emotions with fun games and activities, making it easy for the students to learn.

At this age children are very visual, this is why at the beginning of the week we played with different pictures of facial emotions. The objective was for them to identify and sort according to the emotion: happy or sad. For angry, we had an amazing science experiment were they had to discover the emotion of the monster, after that we practiced fine motor skills using some markers so they could draw their own facial expressions on the mirror. Finally, we introduced a laughing monster with which they learned how to make the monster laugh.

In physical development with Ms. Mely they enjoyed the song, “If You’re Happy and You Know It”.

Art was incredibly fun and sensory. We reinforced the topic of feelings and worked with each one accordingly, using different colors, materials and techniques.

For the topic sad we used the droppers with blue paint simulating tears.

For angry, they stamped with red paint pretending they were angry, for sleepy we used purple paint, feathers and cotton balls, finally for happy they got messy with foam and yellow paint, which is always a lot of fun.

Next week we will be starting with family members.

The Busy Bees are enjoying and learning more and more every day.

Have a great weekend!
