The Busy Bees learned all about Thanksgiving!!..
Vocabulary words include: Turkey, pilgrim, Indian, hunt, fish and thanksgiving.
The kids enjoyed our exploration activities this week. On Monday we played with some turkeys made with paper bags. The next day we brought fish for them to try, it was interesting how some of the kids tried it and liked it!!.
As our creative project of the week, we worked to create a cornucopia and the fruits that go in it, using materials such as paint, beans, lentils, apple prints, carrot prints, and bubble wrap.
We had a Thanksgiving celebration where everyone had a blast. The Bees dressed up as pilgrims and wore a paper drum around their neck, which they had made the previous day.
They all had the opportunity to see, smell and taste different kinds of Thanksgiving dishes, such as turkey, corn, cranberries, mashed potatoes and carrots. After lunch they all played together, the older ones with the younger ones. It was great to see how they all take care of each other.
Finally we had some activities prepared for them related to the theme celebration: the fishing game, paste the wings to the turkey, drum circle and hot potato game. They had so much fun!
