It was a great week for the Busy Bees, they loved reviewing all about transportation vehicles and community helpers. The vocabulary included land, air, and water transportation such as cars, motorcycles, race cars, buses, ambulance, tractors, trains, airplanes, helicopters, hot air balloons, boats, ships and fire trucks. For the community helpers it included, garbage collector, pilot, doctor, dentist, teacher, and firefighters.
On Wednesday, we enjoyed the firefighters visit. Kids were paying attention to everything! The squad showed us some of the materials they use in case of a fire and at the end Bees had the opportunity to hold and use the fire hose. It was a great experience.
During Circle time, Mr. Mike role played with the kids simulating a pilot, air plane and the passengers with lots of music. Kids loved it!!
In art we worked with materials such as shaving cream, glitter, glue and paint, water sprayer, markers and crayons. Our students liked painting their firefighters helmet as well as gluing cotton for the clouds on the airplane project.
During exploration we had a great experiment using water, vegetable oil, food coloring, and alka seltzer. The kids were all focused on the procedure.
Finally for story time we read some books about transportation which they really enjoyed: “Book on the Go“, “The Wheel on the Bus“, “Vroom, Things that Go“, “Fire Engine“ and “Trains, Boats, and Planes“. Afterwards we played with some props and toys related to the books.
It was a fun week full on new learning experiences!.
