Love and Friendship

February is here! A month that represents love and friendship, with lots of new vocabulary words to learn. During this month we will have several visits from community helpers such as: Police officer, mailman, firefighter, and rescue team. Garbage collector was another topic on this week’s list, and turtles had a special activity. The kids got to the classroom and found lots of wrappers (playing the part of trash) laying on the floor, and everyone helped picking it up. Kiddos enjoyed and learned o put the garbage in the trashcan.

Valentine´s Day celebration is coming up on Wednesday February 14th!! The Party Hosts will provide snacks, so instead of sending a lunchbox on that day, please just send a water thermos or juice.

The kids will exchange Valentines with their friends, we have 12 students in our Tiny Turtles class so make sure to send a bag for your child to collect candy. If you would like to send a special treat for your child’s classmates, don’t forget to label only who it’s from, so we make it easier for the kids to pass out.

Winter Review

Exploration time is always a surprise for the kids. This week we reviewed our winter topics and made some “snow” by adding water to a special substance. We gave the turtles some plastic winter animals so they could play in their habitat.

Creativity time was the perfect class to go over the concepts learned in January. Children loved their winter printable where they used blue and purple crayons. Also they played with foam, pretending to be snow. Turtles enjoyed experiencing different textures and sensations, especially the foam. Finally they made a heart with yellow, pink and red paint for Valentine’s day!

Hope you have a wonderful long weekend!

Keep in mind we won’t be having class on Monday, so see you next Tuesday!

Keeping Warm with our Winter Clothes

Tiny turtles learned all about winter clothing this week, and we had special activities designed for them, in which they played and learned at the same time.

During Exploration, our little ones had fun dressing up using winter clothes like: scarf, jacket, mittens, and winter cap. This activity allowed them to learn the concepts of the week while reviewing body parts.

The concepts were all related to winter clothing and in our Creativity department we incorporated some fun activities to review our weekly theme. Turtles had a blast using water colors for the first time. We painted a mitten and pasted pompoms. Everyday kids are more interested in new activities and textures. We are very proud of them!

Have a nice weekend!

Merry Christmas!

What a great week, full of joy and excitement! Turtles practiced really hard, and their hard work paid off! They did great at our Toy Stories Christmas show! We are so proud of them, and we hope you enjoyed it, too.

We had a super busy week. Our Tiny Turtles were working hard like Santa’s elves! This week during art, we were making the Christmas gift for mommy and daddy. Children loved footprinting! Also they made a reindeer ornament by painting  3 sticks with brown paint and pasting some eyes and nose. Kiddos had a blast!

Santa Claus is Coming to Town!

This week was all about practice, practice, and practice for our Christmas program during physical development. Children danced to the beat of the songs and put on their best dance moves. Tiny Turtles are working hard and they’re very excited to show mommy and daddy their Christmas show.

This week Turtles also worked on Christmas gifts for you. They enjoyed using paint and experiencing new activities.

On Thursday we had a very special guest from the North Pole at Toddler Tree, Santa Claus! The kids were excited to meet him and they had their picture taken with him as well. Also, your little ones sent letters to Santa with some Christmas wishes.

Next Monday Dec. 11th will be our Christmas Toy Stories presentation at Candy Gum Party Place. Please send your child with jeans/leggings and turtle neck.

We would like to remind you that the best way you can support your child is by avoiding distractions (calling out their name, looking for him/her behind the set, waving, etc). That way you allow him/her the chance to perform what they have practiced. We hope you enjoy the show!
