Mixing Colors!

This week was filled with fun activities!

During Creativity, the kids had a blast melting crayons with a hair dryer to create “rain” for a really cool painting we hung on the door!

For Columbus day, the kiddos decorated some paper boats and later let them sail away in a mini pool. We all waved goodbye!

Next week we will get into Halloween mode, and we will be making Jack-O-Laterns and a witch hat!

On Wednesday October 31st, we will have our Vintage Halloween Party. Please remember to send your children with something to collect their sweets (it can be a bag or basket). In case you want to send treats for their classmates, there are 12 kids (6 Girls and 6 Boys).

Hope you have an amazing weekend!

Shapes! You Can See Them Everywhere!

This week, our Busy Bees began working on identifying different shapes they see every day in their classroom. They are now very familiar with circles, triangles, squares, rectangles, ovals, diamonds, stars & hearts. It is amazing to watch them identify a shape and then match it correctly!

During Exploration, the kids had lots of fun! They had a big selection of colored shapes, and we practiced sorting them by color and form. Also, we did an experiment using Sweethearts that helped us reinforce the concept of colors.

They love the science experiments we do!

As you may already know, on Wednesday October 31st, we will be having our “Vintage Halloween” party and parade. We would like to encourage you to start looking for costumes so your child can participate. Try to find simple costumes for their own comfort. If possible, use make up instead of a mask, so it won’t obstruct their sight.

Next week, we will also be full of surprises. We are planning lots of fun activities related to lines and colors, and introducing Halloween!

Hope you have an amazing weekend!

Mime Time!

This week was so exciting because we had a mime visit Toddler Tree. The kids enjoyed the Mime Time show very much! They learned about different expressions and how we show feelings such as happy, sad, angry and surprised.

To get the kids prepared for the mime, and so they wouldn’t be frightened, Miss Caty was also a mime, the day before. She dressed in black and white and when she brought out the face paint, the kids enjoyed helping her paint her face.

Next week we will be covering shapes: triangle, square, circle, rectangle and oval. Our kiddos love making experiments and next week they’re definitely in for a surprise!

Hope you have an amazing weekend!

My Family and I

This week our main topic was “My Family and I”. We learned about mom, dad, sister, brother, baby, grandma and grandpa. Our kiddos had fun role-playing using family puppets; trying to identify the different members of a family.

The Busy Bees absolutely loved making a glove with each of their family members, then singing the Finger Family song.

Your little ones also had a blast using play dough and cookie cutters of different sizes, from big to small to resemble family members.

The kids presented themselves to their classmates using their family boxes. They had so much fun learning about one and other!

Next week, we will be learning about the parts of a house and we will also have a mime visiting us on Wednesday, September 26th. We will be reinforcing topics such as feelings and emotions through a fun presentation!

Hope you have an amazing weekend!

Getting To Know Our School

Dear Parents,

This week our Busy Bees had fun learning more about school items. The kiddos really enjoyed exploring and drawing on the chalk board.

We are so happy to see how every new learning experience excites them!

We are helping them to follow new instructions, such as: how and where to line up, walk and sit down, among others. For example, this week they started to open their lunch boxes by themselves! We feel so proud to see how they are developing and becoming more independent.

Please remember that our Busy Bees Open House is next Thursday, September 6, at 8:00 p.m.

We look forward to seeing you there!

Hope you have an amazing weekend!!

Can you Count the Windows?

This week, we have been talking about different shapes and learning new vocabulary words. Our Busy Bees have really enjoyed talking, singing and reading books related to the topic of “My School.”

During Creativity, we reinforced the weekly concepts including: painting different shapes and making a house with a variety of shapes and colors.

On Thursday, Victor Ortiz was our Super Kid and we celebrated his birthday. His Mommy and Daddy brought cupcakes and we had a great time!

It is a privilege to be able to be part of your child´s learning.

Please remember our Open House will be held next Thursday, September 6 at 8:00 pm.

Have a great weekend,

Fun At The Beach!!!

Busy Bees have loved exploring this new topic of the week about Fun at the Beach!! They were so exited to play with sand, sunglasses, sunscreen, sailboats, surfboards, bike, snorkeling gear and we also reviewed some sea creatures. They can now identify lots of them.

In Creativity the kids really enjoyed working with paint, sand, glue, fingerprints, crayons, paint brushes, and foot prints. This project involved painting blue with watercolors, simulating the ocean, they also explored sand and they paste it with glue on the paper and finally they included some goldfish crackers. It was a great project. They were also happy to color a sailboat using crayons. And a beach ball using paint and finger prints.

During circle time, Mr. Mike had a surprise for the Bees. Surfing boards for everyone!!! He played a beach song and we went surfing. They really enjoyed it.

In Physical Development, the kids had fun dancing to “The Baby Shark” song. And running around, jumping and rolling on the cushions.

Stories we read this week: Row your Boat, A Fish out of the water, Under the Sea, The Very Silly Shark and A Potty for Me!!! During this last book everyone surprised me with their attention. They were listening carefully and loved following along, some of them felt identified and showed us that they don’t wear a diaper any more.

Don’t forget your pajamas on Thursday, our last day of Kinder!!!

Pet Week!

Busy Bees enjoyed learning about different pet animals.

The vocabulary words learned this week were: dog, puppies, cats, kittens, rabbit, frogs, hamster, birds, fish and turtle. They also learned how to touch them and take care of them.

Pet week was full of visits!!! “Donato” Miss Karen’s cat, came to visit, everyone was in love with him. “Bruno” Miss Dany’s dog, came to the kinder too and kids were very exited hugging him.

During Art we worked on sensory skills, they made a fish bowl using orange paint and their handprint. Art is one of their favorite periods.

In Physical development, we started practicing for our end of the year program. They also practiced their balance, they jumped like frogs, dance and simulated swimming in the ocean.

Next week we will start learning about zoo animals
