We Saw Santa!

This week was an exciting one for the kids!

On Wednesday, we saw Santa who came to visit Toddler Tree and we got to take pictures and told him what we want for Christmas.

One of our memorable activities of the week was during Exploration, when we made fake snow! The kids had so much fun touching it and discovering new textures. Also, we made an elf using paper plates and learned a lot about Rudolph the Red-nosed Reindeer.

We have been practicing for “The Grand Christmas Rhapsody.” The kiddos are excited to show you what have we been working on.

Next week we will be learning about Frosty the Snowman, making gingerbread cookies and the story about baby Jesus.

We hope you have an amazing weekend!

Thanksgiving Feast!

The Busy Bees had their Thanksgiving feast on Wednesday, and they really enjoyed it. They had the experience of viewing a set Thanksgiving table with all the delicious food.

They also got to rotate and play different games in other classrooms like a food relay, “Go Fish”, and “Pin the Feather on the Turkey.”

This week we used cookie cutters to make turkey out of bread, it was really cute and the kids loved doing it. Also, the kiddos practiced being Indians and pilgrims. It was a week filled with fun and surprises!

When we come back to school after Thanksgiving break, we will start talking about Christmas themes such as: bells, toys, Santa, Christmas Trees, ornaments, candies and cookies

We want to remind you that we won’t have classes next week as we celebrate the Mexican Revolution and Thanksgiving Holidays.

Classes will resume on Monday, November 26.

When we come back to school after Thanksgiving break, we will start talking about Christmas themes such as: bells, toys, Santa, Christmas Trees, ornaments, candies and cookies.

Thank you for all you do!

Happy Thanksgiving!

Fruits And Vegetables Are Here!

This week, we started with a new and fun topic for the Busy Bees to learn! We talked about fruits and vegetables, such as: apple, banana, orange, and lemon, carrot, broccoli, onion, potatoes, tomatoes and green peas. We also introduced them to several dairy products, like: milk, butter, cheese, yogurt and eggs.

During class, they had the opportunity to taste and explore some of these different foods.

In Creativity, we worked on our fine motor skills by making apple stamping. Also, we made a rainbow out of fruit and a smiley face using jicama, carrots, raisins and tomatoes. Our Bees had tons of fun creating a color-changing, milk science experiment. They really enjoyed it!

Next week we will have our Thanksgiving Feast on Wednesday. Please remember there is no need to send lunch, we will have lots of food for the kiddos to eat!

We hope you have an amazing weekend!

Bye-Bye October, Hello November!

This week we had so much with our Halloween parade! The kids did a great job on the cat walk and very much enjoyed our last October activities. It was lovely seeing everyone in their costumes!

We are saying “Bye-bye October, hello November!”

Next week, will be filled with many fun surprises. We are beginning the month learning about food and later we will be learning all about Thanksgiving.

The kids will be learning about different types of fruits and veggies and how important they are to stay healthy. Our students will have the chance to tell us which one is their favorite. We are going to teach them to identify and describe them using their senses.

We wish you a very fun and happy weekend!!!

Having A Spooktacular Time

This week was such a fun experience for the Busy Bees! During Physical Development, they really enjoyed dancing to all the Halloween songs. We used hula hoops, pom-poms, tambourines, among other props and even dressed up in different costumes!

Our students also had a blast working on their Itsy Bitsy Spider during Creativity Class. They also really enjoyed playing with ghost googly mixture  (shaving cream, glitter  and glue).

Next week, we are going to practice walking slowly and carefully for our parade. Remember, the parade is this Wednesday, October 31st.

The kids are so excited!

Here are some reminders:
1. Kids arrival time is at 9:00am, please do not send lunch boxes. Just a bag to collect goodies and treats. Whatever your send to share with classmates (candies), please label only who it is from.
2. Admission for the 10:30am parade will be 2 people per family.
3. Parking is limited (consider Uber).
4. Please leave the kinder without entering the classrooms. This is to avoid disturbing the children.
5. If it rains, the parade will be held for students only.

Hope you have and amazing weekend!

Halloween Is Almost Here!

Halloween is near! This is why during the week we learned a lot about it.

Some of the vocabulary words we learned were: pumpkin, cat, witch, hat, bat, jack-o-lantern, spider and ghost.

During Creativity Time, we made a jack-o-lantern with Jell-o and a witch hat made out of candy.

We also have been reviewing colors , shapes , and trying to learn which is our birthday month!

As you can see, the kids are loving these topics and we have been having lots of fun. We are looking forward to next week to continue learning about Halloween.

Hope you have an amazing weekend!

Mixing Colors!

This week was filled with fun activities!

During Creativity, the kids had a blast melting crayons with a hair dryer to create “rain” for a really cool painting we hung on the door!

For Columbus day, the kiddos decorated some paper boats and later let them sail away in a mini pool. We all waved goodbye!

Next week we will get into Halloween mode, and we will be making Jack-O-Laterns and a witch hat!

On Wednesday October 31st, we will have our Vintage Halloween Party. Please remember to send your children with something to collect their sweets (it can be a bag or basket). In case you want to send treats for their classmates, there are 12 kids (6 Girls and 6 Boys).

Hope you have an amazing weekend!

Shapes! You Can See Them Everywhere!

This week, our Busy Bees began working on identifying different shapes they see every day in their classroom. They are now very familiar with circles, triangles, squares, rectangles, ovals, diamonds, stars & hearts. It is amazing to watch them identify a shape and then match it correctly!

During Exploration, the kids had lots of fun! They had a big selection of colored shapes, and we practiced sorting them by color and form. Also, we did an experiment using Sweethearts that helped us reinforce the concept of colors.

They love the science experiments we do!

As you may already know, on Wednesday October 31st, we will be having our “Vintage Halloween” party and parade. We would like to encourage you to start looking for costumes so your child can participate. Try to find simple costumes for their own comfort. If possible, use make up instead of a mask, so it won’t obstruct their sight.

Next week, we will also be full of surprises. We are planning lots of fun activities related to lines and colors, and introducing Halloween!

Hope you have an amazing weekend!

Mime Time!

This week was so exciting because we had a mime visit Toddler Tree. The kids enjoyed the Mime Time show very much! They learned about different expressions and how we show feelings such as happy, sad, angry and surprised.

To get the kids prepared for the mime, and so they wouldn’t be frightened, Miss Caty was also a mime, the day before. She dressed in black and white and when she brought out the face paint, the kids enjoyed helping her paint her face.

Next week we will be covering shapes: triangle, square, circle, rectangle and oval. Our kiddos love making experiments and next week they’re definitely in for a surprise!

Hope you have an amazing weekend!
