Hello, February!

Hello Parents,

This week we had a blast! We learned a lot of new things related to community helpers and made a police officer hat in our art class, as well as making cookies playing the baker in the classroom. We also celebrated Jose Daniel’s Birthday. We introduced the valentines’ theme to the class and started talking about love and friendship. We are still learning to adapt to our learning environment and new friends, but we are sure these adorable students will keep adapting and having fun everyday. We apologize for canceling the open house last Wednesday, but are looking forward to seeing you on Monday, February 12 at 8:00pm.

Valentine´s Day celebration is coming up on Wednesday February 14th!! The Party Hosts will provide snacks, so instead of sending a lunchbox on that day, please just send a water thermos or juice.

The kids will exchange Valentines with their friends, we have 14 students in our Caterpillars class so make sure to send a bag for your child to collect candy. If you would like to send a special treat for your child’s classmates, don’t forget to label only who it’s from, so we make it easier for the kids to pass out.

Congratulations to the Garza family! Their daughter Olivia was born yesterday, happy and healthy. Big Sister Camila will be back on Monday to share the news with her teachers and friends. We are so happy for them!!!

Have a wonderful weekend!
Thank you,
Miss Debbie

Love and Friendship!!

February, a new month!! We’ve started learning all about love, friendship and Valentines. Even story time has included lots of hugs between our Busy Bees. They enjoyed some of the books this week such as: I Love You Mommy, Who Do You Love and Corduroy´s Party.

During exploration, they worked on their fine motor skills and improving concentration and focus by threading different color hearts on pipe cleaners. Everyone did a great job!!

Busy Bees had lots of fun during art, we used different techniques, including: gluing small paper squares to make a fox, coloring some hearts using crayons, and modeling  play dough.

Finally circle time was exiting for them, too. Mr. Mike introduced new love songs using the accordion and the saxophone as well as heart puppets, for them to understand more about friendship and Valentines. They were all paying a lot of attention.

Valentine´s Day celebration is coming up on Wednesday February 14th!! The Party Hosts will provide snacks. Instead of sending a lunchbox on that day, please just send a water thermos or juice.

The kids will exchange Valentines with their friends, we have 12 students in our Busy Bees class so make sure to bring a bag to collect their candy. If you would like to send a special treat for your child’s classmates, don’t forget to label only who it’s from.

Welcome Februrary!

We have started our second month of the year! It is always nice to see our students´ expressions when they come in the classroom and they notice that the bulletin board has been changed to a different theme, related to the new month that is just beginning! Of course, this one, is the moth of friendship and love….we will be celebrating Valentine’s Day at Toddler Tree very soon!

After wrapping up winter, we started on Wednesday, talking about love and friendship to our Terrific Tigers. We explained what Valentine´s Day is and how we need to be nice and take good care of our friends. During Creativity Class they started working on their Sponge Heart Prints, we made bird feeders out of fruitloops as well! (Some couldn’t resist the temptation during the activity and had theirs as a snack <3 ). They were very quick to recognize the heart shape and the different colors they used to print these hearts.

Books read this week included: Arthur´s Valentine Countdown, Clifford´s Valentine, Valentine bugs, Don’t Take Your Elephant to School and No David .

We are also very excited about our upcoming Valentine’s Day celebration! The mailman will be visiting Toddler Tree on Wednesday, February 14th to pass out Valentines for everybody. Because February Party Hosts will provide snacks, instead of sending a lunchbox on that day, please just send a water thermos. We will be making love notes and cards and our students will exchange Valentines with their friends. Your child will need a bag or box to collect their notes and treats. Also, if you would like to send a special treat for your child’s classmates, make sure to label only who it’s from.

We have 13 students in our Terrific Tigers class.

Hope you have a wonderful long weekend!

Keep in mind we won’t be having class on Monday, so see you next Tuesday!

Winter Review

Exploration time is always a surprise for the kids. This week we reviewed our winter topics and made some “snow” by adding water to a special substance. We gave the turtles some plastic winter animals so they could play in their habitat.

Creativity time was the perfect class to go over the concepts learned in January. Children loved their winter printable where they used blue and purple crayons. Also they played with foam, pretending to be snow. Turtles enjoyed experiencing different textures and sensations, especially the foam. Finally they made a heart with yellow, pink and red paint for Valentine’s day!

Hope you have a wonderful long weekend!

Keep in mind we won’t be having class on Monday, so see you next Tuesday!

Bye Bye, January!

Hello parents,

This week we had a lot of fun!!! We learned to use different materials, such as crayons, paint and shaving cream. We started practicing rules and following instructions. Also, we focused learning about colors, shapes, numbers, weather, ABC and reviewing the winter theme. The Crawling Caterpillars are still adapting to our learning environment, but are no longer crying. We are starting to share and learn about friendship!

Hope you have a wonderful long weekend!

Keep in mind we won’t be having class on Monday, so see you next Tuesday!
