January Week 1

Happy New Year 2016! Wishing you and your family a happy 2016 full of hope and joy!

Well, we are very happy to see Big Bears again!!

We are back looking forward to an exciting and productive year.

January will be a month for learning about things related to winter. We will do our best so Big Bears continue learning different experiences as continuing to support their over all development.

We are so eager to have our dearest Grandmothers as guests on January. We will let you know about specific time in the invitations that will be sent out prior to the event.

Remember to label all jackets and sweaters to avoid mixups.

Thank You

Ms. Caya & Miss María Elena

Welcome Back to Toddler Tree, Tigers!

After having spent so much enjoyable time with family and friends, our students came back to school this week. We have started this new month and the new 2016 year with the introduction of winter: vocabulary words used this week included snow, snowman, & snowflake. We also talked about things that are cold and reviewed the seasons changing: winter, spring, summer & fall. Finally, on Friday we talked about winter fun, and all the sports and activities that can be done in the snow!

During Creativity Class they worked on  a snowman made on a blue canvas, using white paint and circular sponges. One by one they helped placing the final details on their project such as the button nose, eyes, a corn-pipe, a scarf and boots. They also worked on another snowman, done individually by each one of them. They had to count 10 white cotton balls and glue them on a piece of paper in the shape of a snowman. They also enjoyed making the snowfales, with the help of  cotton swabs and white paint!

Physical Education class has been also related to winter and they sang and danced to music that talked about winter!

Stories read to them this week included “Are you Ready for Winter?” “Ben and the Cold”, “Around the Year”, and Bear Went over the Mountain”.,

We have begun with the leader once more, and they have been more than excited to resume this wonderful activity for them to bring something special from home and share it with their friends!

Next week we will be talking about  winter clothes and winter shoes.

Mrs. Martha and I wish you all a very wonderful 2016 with many blessings for each one of our little ones and their lovely families!
