Merry Christmas!

What a great week, full of joy and excitement! We had been looking forward to a special event prepared just for you, our Rockefeller Christmas Spectacular program. Turtles practiced really hard, and their hard work paid off! They did great!                                         We are so proud of them, and we hope you enjoyed the show.

Last day of school and vacations are here! Let’s make the most of these days by spending time with our loved ones, making beautiful memories surrounded by our families.

We had a super busy week. Our Tiny Turtles were working hard like Santa’s elves! In exploration time we had one activity in particular which they loved, it was the “Yummy Christmas Tree” made out of a sugar cones, frosting with green food coloring, and sprinkles. It got a little bit messy but kids were happy and excited to work as a group decorating the Christmas tree!

This week with Miss Cristy, turtles were super busy making the Christmas gift for mommy and daddy. Children also loved making cookies! They used some Christmas cookie cutters, and then they watched the cookies bake in a mini oven. The best part for sure was enjoying them, they were delicious!

May lovely, happy times decorate your holiday season

May warm, special memories brighten your new year

May the wonder of Christmas be with you forever!

With love,

Miss Judy and Miss Karen

Wishing your a Wonderful Christmas Time!

Our main topics this week were focused on Christmas and all of the magic this special holiday brings. Vocabulary words that we reviewed this week were:  wreath, chimney, fireplace, stockings, cookies, candy cane, and candy.

During Creativity Class we focused on finishing the Christmas gift that our Terrific Tigers made especially for you. They had been working on this project for several days since they painted it and had to wait for it to dry in order to continue with the next part. They were very happy making it, since they knew they were going to give it to you! They were also excited about making their own cookies. Cookie dough was given to them and they had to select from a variety of Christmas shaped cookie cutters and make their own cookie form. We baked them in an electric oven and finally, they were able to taste the own cookie that they made!

Another highlight of this week was our Christmas program on Tuesday. After weeks and weeks of practice, it is always a joy to see how our kids prepare themselves for this special event. Having this special family time with your kids after the performance is always very special for them! It was an honor to have you as our guests

During physical development we danced to many holiday tunes including “Rudolph the red nosed reindeer” and “Up on the Housetop.”  We also used some antlers to do the “Reindeer Pokey.”

Several books were read to them during Story Time and they loved watching all the pictures of the vocabulary words we have been talking about: Santa, Christmas Tree, ornaments, Rudolph the red nosed reindeer, elves, Santa´s workshop, among others.

Our leaders this week were Gabriel, Lilia María, and Federico. Our surprise bag activity is such an excitment for them!

It has been such a joy to work with your children this semester. Each and every one of our students is special in different ways. Thank you for giving us the opportunity to teach them and watch them grow.

We look forward to seeing them back in January to continue on this beautiful journey. On behalf of all the staff at Toddler Tree, we want to wish you a very Merry Christmas and Happy New year!

Most of them were able to tell us what they would like Santa to bring them: motorcycles, ipads, cars, swings,&dolls were some of the items mentioned…..

When we talked about elves, or Santa´s helpers, our Terrific Tigers got dressed up as elves and they were happy to pretend to be one of them! With Miss Cristy kids were such great little helpers! They made all the set and decorations for their program! Kiddos also wrapped up boxes as gifts for the set and started making their Christmas gift.

On Wednesday we had a very special guest from the North Pole at Toddler Tree, Santa Claus! They were excited to meet him and they had their picture taken with him as well. Today your little ones sent balloons to Santa with some Christmas wishes.

Kids enjoyed story time a lot, we saw books related to the season, like “The Cheerios Christmas playbook”, “Christmas pop -up peekaboo”, “Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer” and “My Santa Claus”.

Next tuesday Dec. 15th will be our Rockefeller Christmas Spectacular at Candy Gum Party Place. Please send your kid with the outfit for the show, and we would like to remind you that the best way you can support your child is by avoiding  distractions (calling out their name, looking for him/her behind the set, waving, etc). That way you allow him/her the chance to perform what they have practiced. We hope you enjoy the show!

Painting and pasting were the two main activities of the week, kiddos are such good helpers because they’re making the props for the set of our Christmas program.
