“Les Toreadors” from Carmen Suite No. 1
Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart
Dates: Born January 27, 1756 in Salzburg, Austria & Died December 5, 1791 in Vienna, Austria
Style/Period: Classical 1750-1820
Famous Works: Mozart wrote over 600 works during his lifetime, including 41 symphonies, Eine Kleine Nachtmusik, and 27 piano concertos. Three of his most famous operas include The Marriage of Figaro, The Magic Flute and Don Giovanni. He is also famous for his Requiem mass
Bio: Mozart was no doubt the greatest child star that ever lived. He was traveling all over Europe playing music by the time he was six. Because of his constant travels, Mozart eventually learned to speak fifteen different languages.
He wrote his first sonata for the piano when he was four and composed his first opera when he was twelve! Mozart could compose anywhere – at meals (he loved liver dumplings and sauerkraut), while talking to friends, while playing pool and even while his wife was having a baby. He composed very quickly and wrote huge amounts of music. It would take over 8 days to play all of his music, one piece after the next, without stopping. One famous piece that he wrote was Variations on “Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star.”
One night a mysterious stranger came to his door dressed in gray to hire Mozart to write a requiem mass (a piece of music that choirs perform at funerals). Mozart, who was very afraid of ghosts and extremely superstitious, was terrified of the stranger who kept nagging him to finish the piece. He was already ill, and in his state of mind he became convinced that he was writing music for his own funeral.
During his lifetime, Mozart was very well-known but spent money faster than he could earn it. He was poor and in debt when he died of kidney failure at the age of 35 and was buried in an unmarked grave. Mozart is considered by some to be the greatest composer who ever lived. While most composers specialize in certain kinds of pieces, Mozart created masterful works for almost every category of music – vocal music, concertos, chamber music, symphonies, sonatas, and opera.
We lost our baton,
Yes we lost our baton,
Have you seen the bald eagle
who took our baton?
Starting Monday, June 22, 2015 our annual Summer Camp has lots of fun in store for little ones! Exploration activities kick off the morning at 9am and we will rotate centers including Circle Time, Art, Story, Gym, Playground and Active Music through 12pm when girls will be grouped together for dance lessons and boys for sports training until 1pm.
Don’t miss it, see you there!
We can still remember the first day of school as if it was yesterday. Time passes so fast that the last day of school is almost here. We are so proud of our Big Bears because they have grown and are full of dreams, which we are sure they will pursue and achieve successfully.
All this school year, as teachers we had a goal and hope we would like to share with you.
“A teacher´s purpose is not to create students in her own image, but to develop students who can create their own image”.
We loved every moment with you at the Graduation Ceremony. Thank you for attending.
Have a great weekend.
Summer is here, with its sunny and warm days, filled with fun and laughter! We are now in the month of June and tiny turtles are going to enjoy lots of summer fun concepts! This week they learned about summer, sun, sand, sea, fun at the beach (sunglasses, sunscreen), shovel, pail, castle, snorkeling, swimsuit and surfing.
During exploration time we had activities with sand, like playing with sand and strainers, or taking them outside to the water and sand tables for some sensory play. They were really into our “Beach prop box” filled with items related to the beach like life vest, goggles, sunglasses, beach balls, flippers and sunscreen.
In creativity time with Miss Cristy children enjoyed a stamping and drawing with markers activity, as well as painting a coffee filter with orange and yellow markers. With the help of a paintbrush they spread some yellow, blue and green paint all over craft paper. One of the activities that your kiddos enjoy greatly is play dough time, where they get to practice their fine motor skills, so our turtles get to play and learn at the same time.
In physical development class kids played with “beach” balls, pretended to go “surfing” by standing on balance beams ad wearing sunglasses. They really like the “listen & move” song, and playing with the parachute is always so much fun! We imagined ourselves at a beach full of shells (small balls) and each kid got a pail to collect the “shells” from the “sand” (gym carpet).
Have a nice weekend!
Miss Judy, Miss Nancy and Miss Karen.

Recess was especially fun this week because the sand boxes are out and the kids really enjoy playing in them. they like to fill cups and pour the sand from one cup to another.
During Physical development, the Tigers went “Rolling down the Sand Hills” to the famous Wiggles song. They also enjoyed dancing to the song “Dancing in the Sand” by the Wiggles as well. A BIG congratulations to Pablo and Ro who celebrated their graduation ceremony on Wednesday. We are going to miss you at Toddler Tree.
This school year has been a blessing for us! We had the opportunity to meet and be part of our Big Bears lives. Happiness and sadness is what we feel right now. But we are sure that the future of our little ones will be filled with wonderful experiences.
Being teachers is always a reward, every day. Each one of our students gave us the chance to learn new things. We feel happy with the final outcome of 2014-2015 School Year. We are so proud of them! They will always be present in our hearts and thoughts.
“Family is the first school for young children, and parents are powerful models”.
Thank you very much for attending to the parent-teacher conference, I really appreciated your time and effort. Big Bears had a great time in our “splash day”, they really enjoyed it a lot.
We will miss you a lot with all our heart. Have a safe and fantastic summer.
Take care and love,
Ms. Caya & Miss María Elena
Today was our last day of school, so many mixed emotions…We feel happy and excited for the next step in your childs’ educational journey, but at the same time we feel a little bit sad because we’re going to miss those daily hugs and listening to their lovely laughs. They filled our classroom with joy and happiness; so many memories will stay with us, so many happy moments. We truly enjoyed every minute we had with our tiny turtles, every single one of them is unique and very special to us.
This week was all about having fun, and enjoying some of the activities your kids like best. In exploration time they played with a toy cruise ship and bicycle, with lego blocks, puzzles, sand box (with strainers, shells and starfish) and cars.
In creativity time with Miss Cristy children were super entertained placing rubber bands on a piece of cardboard, an activity that helps to develop their fine motor skills. They also got to paint the same cardboard with rubber bands, this was used to make a print on their father’s day present. They love to use rollers with different prints like stars, circles, squares, etc. Another activity that they absolutely adore is the “roll the ball in the box” they put a piece of paper inside the box and then they were given a golf ball full of paint. Turtles had so much fun moving the box up and down, side to side, and shaking it all around. Children couldn’t be more excited with the present they made for their dads, they worked on this project the whole week and everything was made by them and chosen by them, including the color of the bow!
Our tiny turtles had a blast at our water party today, they loved to go down on the water slide and make a big splash on their way down. We have some nice pictures to share with you, please check them out on our facebook page. Your little ones also enjoyed some special and tasty treats, a yummy vanilla ice cream cone which they enjoyed while viewing the video of their “seasons of love” dance. We also gave them some popcorn at the end of the day.
It’s been quite a journey! We feel blessed and fortunate of being your kids teachers for this past school year, we will always cherish those beautiful moments with them, forever in our hearts. We also want to thank you for entrusting us with your childs education, here at Toddler Tree that’s our absolute and foremost priority, our number one mission. We love our tiny turtles, we are super proud of their achievements, and they will be greatly missed!
Thank you for a great year!
Miss Judy, Miss Nancy and Miss Karen.

This week has been hilarious! Big Bears are feeling that pretty soon they will be Super Big Bears. As they want vacations, I can let you know how much we will miss them. Of course, we will be offering “Little Einstein´s Adventures” for summer camp this year to further practice English and engage kids in many fun activities.
