What a Wonderful School Year!

It has been such a pleasure to have these adorable little students under our care! Thank you parents for entrusting them to us.

It seems like not so long ago we first saw your children`s faces and got to play with their sense of wonder. Now we have a bunch of kids who are a few inches taller and much more self sufficient, responsible and mature than back then.

Even though they would have grown without our help, it has been our privilege to see their personalities develop, instilling a great love for learning since the very beginning.

Together we have laughed, played, and enriched our lives creating precious memories to remember each and everyone of these beautiful children which we have come to love as our own. Wherever they may go, whatever they do and whoever they become, they will always hold a very special place in our hearts.

Fun at the beach!

This week at Terrific Tigers we have been talking about having fun at the beach. The students have learned about vocabulary words such as sand, sun, sea, sunglasses, sunscreen, shovel, pail, sandcastle, snorkeling, swimsuit and surfing. It was interesting to see that most of our students were familiar with these concepts and they were happy to tell us about the time they have been to the beach. Some of them are even letting us know that they will visit the beach during summer vacation! We had Santiago Duran as our super leader on Friday, which was the actual day of his birthday! We are proud to see our Terrific Tigers students grow! Next week we can sadly say will be our last week of school with our beautiful students! We will be talking about summer fun and mentioning all the activities they can do during summer. Four of our students will move off to a bigger school next school year and we will surely miss them in August when we see the new “Big Bears” in another group! We sure wish them the  best! We would like to let you know that on the last day of school, Friday, June 13th, our students will come to school in their pajamas, since we will be having our “Pajama Day”! You will soon be receiving a notification of the hour in which our parent-teacher evaluations will be held on the 15th and 16th of June. Have a beautiful weekend!

June Week 1

We can still remember the first day of school as if it was yesterday. Time passes so fast that the last day of school is almost here. We are so proud of our Big Bears because they have grown and are full of dreams, which we are sure they will pursue and achieve successfully.

We had two pets that came this week. Pablo´s turtle and Josemanuel´s puppy. We enjoyed meeting and playing with these pets.

All this school year, as teachers we only had a goal and a hope in our minds and hearts. We would like to share it with you.

“A teacher´s purpose is not to create students in her own image, but to develop students who can create their own image”.

Please remember next Wednesday, June 11, 2014 will be Graduation Day at Toddler Tree. It will take place at 8:30 a.m. Don´t miss it.

Have a great weekend.

A Day at the Beach!

This week the children had fun learning about the beach! During story, the children enjoyed different books about the beach where they discovered different activities to do at the beach; building sand castles, playing with the beach ball, surfing, and swimming. They loved being read “Dora: A day at the beach”. During recess, the children loved using sun glasses and playing with sand and water, too. They used shovels and pails to gather sand. Students learned the importance of wearing sunscreen every day. During creativity, the children made a Sun pasting yellow and orange paper, while they sang “Mr. Sun”. They also made a beach using sand and their hands to make a crab. In physical development, the children pretended to swim, they also pretended to surf using the balance beams while hearing “Surfing USA”. It’s been a fun week full of surprises!

This week’s vocabulary words: Summer, sand, sun, sea, sunglasses, sunscreen, shovel, pail, castle, snorkeling, swimsuit and surfing.

Next week’s vocabulary words are: trike, bike, skates, scooter,
We will also review beach and traveling: suitcase, car, airplane, ship
