November Week 3

Dear Parents,

During this week we had the opportunity to experience thanksgiving and different things involved on this time. Our Big Bears did beautiful turkeys using brushes and their fingers. At the same time we practiced our November rhyme “Gobble, Gobble”. Also they made their own pilgrim or Indian hats, all of them were so happy to see their finally creation and were constantly asking when could they take it home. We are really pleased to have so nice and excellent students in our group.

Next week there will be no classes due to the Mexican Revolution and Thanksgiving Holiday. Classes will resume on Monday, November 26 and our new theme will be Winter Festival themes such as bells, Santa Claus, ornaments, etc.

Please make sure all of your child’s sweaters and jackets are labeled to avoid mix-ups.

At the end of this post there is a link to a video of Big Bears saying our November Rhyme named “Gobble, Gobble”.

Have A Happy and safe week.

Thank you,

Gobble Gobble

Muchas Gracias,

Gobble Gobble

Thankful for the Terrific Tigers!!

Dear Parents,
The Thanksgiving party was fun! We saw Mr. Mike and Maricusa as Pilgrims and Cristy as an Indian girl. The kids were also Indians and they had a chance to wear their own made Indian hat for the celebration…they enjoyed it! We sang Thanksgiving songs and it was fun! The kids saw the typical food for this season including: turkey, corn, mashed potatoes, pecan pie and cranberries. We later tasted the food and it was delicious! Many of the kids tried things they had never tasted before so it was a nice experience.

This week we focused on sharing. We read some book related to sharing and we even sang songs that relate to the topic. We also focused on kids saying “thanks”, and they are learning to do so.

After we come back from Thanksgiving we will get ready for the Winter Festival, so we are really looking forward to that!

Enjoy your kids next week because we will miss them a lot!

Muchas Gracias,

November is here!

Dear Parents,

This week we welcomed November in the best way with our field trip to HEB. The experience was a total success and we all enjoyed using our senses to recognize and name the different vegetables, fruits and proteins we saw. Thank you for joining us! Here are some pictures from our wonderful experience:

Next week we will be celebrating Thanksgiving and talking about its history and importance. Be ready for some Fun Turkey Activities!

See you next week!

Supermarket success!

A lot went on this past week.  November started, we went to HEB and we had Andrea as a super kid. The Terrific Tigers still wanted to hear Halloween songs but when we explained that we were going to learn new ones they quickly got excited.

The HEB visit was a success.  Although it is common to go with kids to the supermarket sometimes we forget that kids love touching and learning about food hands on. This was a great & different experience for the Tigers!

Next week we will focus on the Thanksgiving celebration.

Have a nice weekend!

November Week 1

Dear Parents,

This week we had the opportunity to admire our Big Bears in their beautiful costumes. Watching their little faces all lit up and excited about doing the Boo to You! catwalk made us feel so happy. That day was full of great moments, including sharing candy among friends. Also, we introduced different fruits and vegetables. The kids had the chance to tell us which one was their favorite and described their shapes and colors. As a creative activity, each Big Bear used their palms and fingers to create 3 different kinds of fruits. At the same time, we practiced shapes (circles), colors (red, brown, green, orange and yellow) and lines (curved line).

Next week they will learn and use their senses to explore different kinds of food and other nutritional information. Also, we will start experiencing and learning about what Thanksgiving means and a new rhyme called “Gobble, Gobble”. We are sure they will love it!

Please make sure all of your child’s sweaters and jackets are labeled to avoid mix-ups.

Have a great weekend.

Thank you,

Ms. Caya & Ms. Yayis

Gobble, Gobble

A turkey is a funny bird,

His head goes wabble, wabble.

He knows just one funny word,

Gobble, Gobble, Gobble.

Estimados padres,

Muchas Gracias,

Ms. Caya & Ms. Yayis

Hello November!

The Halloween Boo to You! catwalk parade was a total success!! The kids prepared all month long for this event. We told them about costumes so that they would be more eager to wear them, and it worked! The Terrific Tigers also had a chance to give out their candy and receive from others. They practiced sharing and it was easier than expected. Now we are ready to say bye to October and hello to November!

During November we will go over fruits, vegetables and Thanksgiving. The kids will learn to say thank you and you are welcome among other things. It is going to be a great month! We will also focus on the sense of smell. We will do several dynamics in which kids will be blindfolded and will need to guess what it is. We are looking forward for November!

We hope you enjoy your weekend,
Miss Lucia and Miss Vero
